　　A:There is a foreign festival connected with pumpkin，but I cannot remember.Which festival?

　　A:在國外有一個與南瓜相關的節日，但是，我記不起那是什麼節日了。哪一個?

　　B:Are you talking about Halloween?

　　B:你是說萬聖節嗎?

　　A:Yes.

　　A:是的。

　　B:We used to have a party and give a lot of performances.

　　B:那天我們有一個聚會，並且進行許多表演。

　　A:Performances?

　　A:表演?

　　B:Yes. Lots of people gave performances on that day.

　　B:是的。那天有許多人表演。

　　A:Were they very scary performances?

　　A:是非常恐怖的表演嗎?

　　B:Not scary. We just danced together, just two rounds, one round is for girls and one round is for boys.

　　B:不是特別恐怖。那天所有的人都跳舞，組成兩個圈，女孩組一個圈，男孩組一個圈。

　　A:Is there anything else?

　　A:還有別的嗎?

　　B:Yeah , sometimes we cut up the pumpkin,so we did and then we lit it up.

　　B:是的，有時候我們剖開南瓜，然後點著它。

　　A:You carved the pumpkin? The jack-o-lantern?

　　A:剖開南瓜?做南瓜燈嗎?

　　B:Yes. It was very interesting.

　　B:是的。那太有趣了。

　　A:Do you know something about Christmas?

　　A:你知道聖誕節嗎?

　　B:Yes. It's the most important traditional festival in the west.

　　B:知道。它是西方最重要的傳統節日。

　　A:Yes,just as important as your Chinese New Year. We all have festival at that time. Family members usually get togather and have a big dinner.

　　A:是啊，就跟你們中國的新年一樣重要。我們那時都休假。家裡人都會聚在一起大吃一餐。

　　B:Is it a traditional festival?

　　B:是個傳統的節日吧?

　　A:Actually it is religious festival to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

　　A:實際上是宗教節日，慶祝耶穌誕生。

　　B:I see. What's the most interesting festival in the USA?

　　B:我知道了。美國最有趣的節日是什麼?

　　A:April Fools' Day,I think.

　　A:我認為是4月1日的愚人節。

　　B:On that day people can make fun of the others , right?

　　B:那天人們會跟別人開玩笑，是嗎?

　　A:Yes, and those who believe are April fools.

　　A:對，那些被捉弄的人就是四月愚人。

　　B:That would be quite interesting.

　　B:肯定很有意思。

　　A:Yes,you are right.

　　A:是的，你說對了。

　　A:Look at those strangely-dressed kids.What are they doing there?

　　A:看那些穿著奇怪衣服的孩子。他們在那兒做什麼呢?

　　B:Don't you know? Today is Halloween. The kids are going trick-or-treating.

　　B:你不知道嗎?今天是萬聖節。孩子們在玩“不請吃就搗蛋”的遊戲。

　　A:Yes. I remember now. But I didn't know the exact date.

　　A:是的。我現在想起來了。但是我不知道具體日期。

　　B:October 31 st. The last day in October is a holiday for kids. We call it Halloween.

　　B:10月31日。10月份的最後一天是孩子們的節日。我們叫它萬聖節。

　　A:Halloween!I've heard of it before,but I didn't know how it is celebrated.

　　A:萬聖節!我以前是聽說過，但是我不知道怎樣慶祝。

　　B:Children celebrate it by making lanterns that night.

　　B:這一天晚上，孩子們做燈籠慶祝這個日子。

　　A:Pardon?

　　A:什麼?

　　B:Those are lanterns made out of fresh pumpkins with a candle burning inside.

　　B:那是用新鮮南瓜做的燈籠，裡面點著蠟燭。

　　A:Today I saw some in the street with carved faces on them. Are they all made by children?

　　A:今天在街上我看到一些這樣的燈籠，上面刻著臉譜。都是孩子們做的嗎?

　　B:Their parents usually help them. You know, it is too hard for them to do it by themselves. Sometimes lanterns are sold in various shops,too.

　　B:家長們通常幫助他們做。你知道，完全自己做對他們來說太難了。有時候，商店裡也賣各種各樣的燈籠。

　　A:They are fascinating. Are you going to any Halloween parties tonight? If you go , take me with you.

　　A:太吸引人了。你今晚去參加萬聖節晚會嗎?你要去的話，帶上我。

　　B:No problem.

　　B:沒問題。
