A survey on performance of our department which is Customer Service, was carried out amount employees and customers. A few findings are developed in this following report.
First of all, to start with positive points, it wasreported that management fosters team spirit, and itis well followed by employees. Moreover, excellentfeedbacks from our customers were received, theywere all fully satisfied with services provided to them.In addition, sales results exceeded plan this year, which refect our effectiveness.
Secondly, unfortunately, there is still weaknesses which could be improved. For instance, thequestionnaire sent to employees outlines the lack of motivation within our team, people don’twork with gusto. Likewise, they all complain about a lack of communication between TechnicalService and Sales Department, which can affect our customers. Our competitors may takeadvantage of it.
Finally, I am confident that we can achieve improvement. Regarding the lack of motivation Iwould recommend our Human Resources department to review their salary statements, indeed, Employees fell a bit of gap between their salary and the ongoing rate, thus pay peoplewhat they worth. Moreover, praise people and publically recognize their individualperformance and leader should define clearly each employee objectives.
In terms of communication, I suggest that our management leader start setting up regularmeeting including sales and technical people and foster open dialogue.
:Building international teams
Dear Jacek
Further to our conversation of 11 November, Iwriting to confirm your visit. Since this will be yourfirst trip to the United Kingdom, I include someinformation about the way we operate.
The first meeting is scheduled for 11.15am andyou should be ready to start promptly. Somepeople say that the British have a rather relaxedattitude to time and that starting 15 minutes late is normal. However, Jim Walsh, the Head ofSales, is extremely keen on punctuality, so do not be tempted to take any risks.
One difference between this office and yours that you may notice is the apparent lack offormality between colleagues here. In British it is usual to use a person's first name once youhave been introduced and you will be invited to do so. Also, please do not feel offended if ourstaff here do not use your professional title; only the medical doctors are given the title‘Doctor' here. As I said, especially between colleagues, it is common simply to use a person'sfirst name.
A number of our managers are women and you should be aware that they are treated inexactly the same way as their male counterparts.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me on 020 779 2603.
I look forward to seeing you on 8 December.
Yours sincerely
:The EKIA way
Limitless Horizons, our travel agency and advisory service specializing in adventure holidays in remote locations, was founded in 1989 by Rob Davies. We do not arrange accommodation in well-known resorts, thus encouraging travellers to discover the real country they are visiting. We constantly seek out new adventure holidays which allow travellers to mix with local people rather than retreat to the beach or their hotel.
Although all our advice is impartial, it is influenced by certain core values:
Respect for local values and practices
Respect for individual needs and independence
Believe in the need to limit the environmental impact of our activities.
We believe that as privileged visitors to sometimes fragile environments, we should take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints.
Wherever possible, we encourage the use of small independent companies. We also insist on local guides and seek to house travellers in modest accommodation. Our clients can look forward to living the local culture and eating the local suicine; Limitless Horizons rejects the concept of Coca-Cola trek.
Our representatives are constantly travelling in order to update and check our information. These trips are funded solely by Limitless Horizons. We pay our way, accepting no hand-outs or free-flights, thus ensuring the only factors influencing our advice to you are your needs and those of the area you wish to visit.
4:The headhunting process
Dear Mr Jacobs
I am writing to apply to the position of SalesAdviser for the North East Region which wasadvertised in Herald International yesterday.
Although I am currently working in the MarketingDepartment of a large multinational, I wouldappreciate to work for a rapidly expanding youngcompany such as yours.
As you can see from my enclosed CV, I obtained an honours degree in Sales and Marketingfrom Nottingham University in 1994. I thoroughly enjoyed the six months I spent in working inBoots plc as pert of the course. During this time I gained invaluable insights into the nature ofsales. After leaving university I initially spent time working for a small local firm before findingmy current job and I feel that I am more suited to the dynamics and varied demands of asmaller firm.
Not only has my experience familiarised me with the challenges faced by the industry todaybut, having been brought up in the north east, I know the region, its problems and itsundoubted potential. As a result, I feel that I would be able to relate to your customers onboth a professional and a personal level.
I am available for interview from 15 September and would be pleased to discuss my CV inmore detail then,
I look forward to hearing from you.
