　　A:I think Dr. Smith will have to eat his words sooner or later.

　　A：我覺得史密斯醫生遲早要收回他說的話。

　　B:But I feel confident of his ability to cure my son's disease.

　　B:但我確信他能治好我兒子的病。

　　A:How can you be so sure?

　　A:你怎麼這麼肯定?

　　B:Many people told me that he never talks big. I also can see from the way he spoke to us.

　　B：很多人告訴我他從來不說大話，從他跟我們說話的方式上我也能看出來。

　　A:Does Tom drink a lot?

　　A:湯姆酒喝得多嗎?

　　B:Yes, he does, He often has had one too many. But when I advised him not to drink toomuch, he just boasted that he had hollow legs and nobody had ever drunk him under thetable.

　　B：是的，他經常喝多，但是當我告訴他別多喝時，他總是吹牛，說他的酒量大得不得了，沒人能把他放倒。

　　A:That's a problem, He has sort of Dutch courage and that will egg him on in doing anything.

　　A：這可是個問題，他在酒後逞能，什麼事都會做出來的。

　　A:My son is always complaining that I dump on him,He was very rude and told me to mind my ownbusiness. I can't put up with that.

　　A:我兒子總是抱怨說我對他太挑剔了，他很不客氣，讓我管好自己的事就行了，我真受不了。

　　B:What does his dad say?

　　B：他爸爸怎麼說?

　　A:John is a peacemaker, He simply doesn't bother,He says he should give him a free hand.

　　A:約翰是個老好人，根本就不管。他說他給兒子自由的空間。

　　A:Waht did he say?

　　A:他說什麼?

　　B:He said he would tell us the secrel of becoming a successful man.

　　B:他說會告訴我們成為成功人士的祕訣。

　　A:It's too good to be true! If I were there, I would ask him if he himself was a successful man.

　　A：哪有這樣的好事啊?如果我在場，我會問他自己是不是成功人士。

　　B:Nobody would drive him up a wall by asking him such a question, you know.

　　B：要知道，沒人會問這樣的問題把他逼得無話可說。
