分為定冠詞和不定冠詞，定冠詞是THE，不定冠詞是A，AN。
定冠詞（the Definite Article），冠詞是虛詞，本身不能單獨使用，也沒有詞義，它用在名詞的前面，幫助指明名詞的含義。英語中定冠詞就是the
定冠詞的用法:
1. 用以特指某（些）人或某（些）事物
This is the house where Luxun once lived.
這是魯迅曾經住過的房子。
2. 用於指談話雙方都明確所指的人或事物
Open the door, please.
請把門打開。
3. 用以複述上文提過的人或事物（第一次提到用“a或an”，以後再次提到用“the”）
Once there lived a lion in the forest. Every day the lion asked small animals to
look for food for him.
從前森林裡住著一隻獅子。每天這隻獅子要小動物們為他尋找食物。
4. 用在序數詞和形容詞最高級前
January is the first month of the year.
一月份是一年當中的第一個月。

5. 表示世界上宇宙中獨一無二的事物

6. 指由普通名詞構成的專有名詞

8. 在海洋、江河、湖泊、山脈、海峽、海灣等地理名詞前

9. 在姓氏複數前，表示一家人
The Bakers came to see me yesterday.

10. 和某些形容詞連用，使形容詞名詞化，代表一類人或物

11. 用在表示階級、政黨的名詞前

12. 用在the very強調句中
