經濟學中需求是在一定的時期，一個經濟主體對一件商品或服務的效用，通常跟他/她的收入有關。需求和需求量是兩個不同的概念，需求反應的是消費者對於某一商品或服務在不同的價格之下的需求集合，而需求量是在某一確定價格之下消費者的需求數量。 需求顯示了隨著價錢升降而其它因素不變的情況下（ceteris paribus），某個體在每段時間內所願意買的某貨物的數量。在某一價格下，消費者願意購買的某一貨物的總數量稱為 需求量。在不同價格下，需求量會不同。需求也就是說價格與需求量的關係。若以影象表示，便稱為 需求曲線。
