吉普(JEEP)是一個品牌，而不是一種車型。世界上第一輛吉普車是1941年在二戰中為滿足美軍軍需生產的。戴姆勒克萊斯勒公司作為吉普的鼻祖，單獨擁有這一註冊商標。在中國，吉普品牌僅限北京吉普汽車有限公司使用。也就是說，除此之外所有的越野車，如三菱、豐田或其他公司生產的車，都不能叫吉普這個名字。2016年2月，Jeep宣佈召回部分進口大切諾基、指揮官以及進口自由光等車型。
