中華民國

中華民國(簡稱民國，1912年-1949年)，位於亞洲東部，是辛亥革命以後建立的亞洲第一個民主共和國。 辛亥革命爆發後，革命黨在南京建立臨時政府，各省推舉孫中山為臨時大總統，1912年元月中華民國正式建立。1912年3月，袁世凱篡奪了辛亥革命的果實，就任中華民國臨時大總統，以袁世凱為首的北洋軍閥政權建立起來。孫中山號召武力討袁，護國運動爆發，袁世凱被迫取消帝制，在絕望中死去。1921年中國共產黨成立後，推動孫中山於1924年改組國民黨，實行聯俄、聯共、扶助農工三大政策，進行北伐戰爭，推翻北洋軍閥統治。1927年蔣介石發動四一二反革命政變後，在南京建立國民政府。全國性抗戰期間，國民政府以重慶為陪都。1949年中國人民在中國共產黨領導下，推翻南京國民政府，建立中華人民共和國。
