茉莉花（拉丁學名：Jasminum sambac（L.）Ait），俗名為茉莉，是木犀科素馨屬植物。 茉莉花屬直立或攀援灌木，高達3米。小枝圓柱形或稍壓扁狀，葉對生，單葉，葉片紙質，兩端圓或鈍，基部有時微心形；裂片長圓形至近圓形，先端圓或鈍。果球形，呈紫黑色。廣泛植栽於亞熱帶地區，茉莉的花極香，為著名的花茶原料及重要的香精原料。原產印度、中國南方和世界各地廣泛栽培。

《茉莉花》由何仿改編自中國民歌《鮮花調》，於1957年首次以單曲形式發行。 《茉莉花》多次在中國香港迴歸祖國政權交接儀式、雅典奧運會閉幕式等重大場面上演出。1982年，《茉莉花》成為聯合國教科文組織向全世界各國人民推薦的優秀歌曲之一。2009年，鹽城工學院憑該曲獲得中國第二屆大學生藝術展演活動藝術表演類節目普通組二等獎。 《茉莉花》後由宋祖英翻唱，於2005年1月1日發行，收錄於音樂專輯《英歌飛揚》中。由雷佳翻唱，於2008年7月28日發行，收錄於音樂專輯《中華五十六民族之歌》中。
