臭氧層

臭氧層是大氣層的平流層中臭氧濃度高的層次。濃度最大的部分位於20—25公里的高度處。若把臭氧層的臭氧校訂到標準情況，則其厚度平均僅為3毫米左右。臭氧含量隨緯度、季節和天氣等變化而不同。紫外輻射在高空被臭氧吸收，對大氣有增溫作用，同時保護了地球上的生物免受遠紫外輻射的傷害，透過的少量紫外輻射，有殺菌作用，對生物大有裨益。
