　　I can only say that I think of what is the standard of success. I think personality of success is the true success. This is need to use the efforts of life to get, so, the standard of success is not matter, but belong to the spirit of the character,.

　　It is said, character is destiny. The perfect character is the need to temper them, need to continually self-discipline, and self-improvement.

　　The perfect character is tolerant, generous, success or failure of the ChongRuBuJing.

　　篇2：Money Is Not Everything 金錢不能代表一切

　　Does contemporary society gauge one's achievements merely according to how much money one possesses? Or are there alternative means to determine whether one is successful or not? Personally, I agree with the latter though I concede that money does account for something.

　　難道現代社會的衡量標準就僅僅以錢多錢少來衡量嗎?還有沒有其他標準來衡量人們是否成功呢?我個人認為，我同意後者的看法，但是我承認金錢的多少代表了一定的事物。

　　Admittedly, success would be a straightforward matter if it is entirely based on monetary terms, And moneydoes provide various conveniences which render life much more comfortable. No one can deny that a poverty-stricken life mostly is not a successful one. However, money is by no means the only device to calibrate one's achievements. There are many wealthy people who are also selfish and even unscrupulous; they accumulate their wealth by exploiting others or through other devious means. In contrast, there are also a large number of people who have made a significant contribution to society even though they are not all that rich.Furthermore, if our society condones the notion that money is of paramount importance and should be obtained at the expense of integrity, honesty and other time-honoured values, then moral corruption is inevitable which will result in dire consequences.

　　無可否認，成功就是是與否的問題，前提是，如果我們僅僅以金錢來衡量它。金錢確實給人類提供了便捷，這使得生活變得更加舒適。沒有人能夠否認，生活窘困事實上是一種不成功的表現。但是，金錢絕不是人們衡量成就的唯一標準。有許多成功人士，厚顏無恥、自私自利;他們通過剝削別人，或者通過其他齷齪的方式獲得金錢。相反，也有許多人他們為社會做出了傑出的貢獻，儘管他們不那麼富有。而且，如果我們的社會擁有著金錢至上的價值觀的話，那麼我們的社會就將缺少正義、誠實、以及其他傳統價值觀，那麼，道德腐敗將不可避免，這將導致嚴重的後果。

　　In summary granted, money is important and even constitutes a crucial element of our society. Yet, successentails a myriad of different aspects and should be gauged not solely by one's monetary possessions.

　　The notion of success holds different meanings for different people and groups.Such meanings have changed and evolved over time.Actually,many propose that possessing an abundance of money implies success.However,this view is rendered obsolete in the minds of those individuals who hold that one's success cannot be measured strictly by money.

　　Material possession has been traditionally accepted as the measurement of one's success or social status.When we initially refer to someone,we routinely mention how much money he owns and thereby believe this individual to be quite successful if he is wealthy.In addition to this perpetuated concept,owning a lot of money is typically related to one's work ability and thus some people may simply consider money as a prime measurement of one's success.

　　However,this view has changed recently since many people have come to recognize that money in many cases cannot bring about happiness,health and success.A more precise,contemporaneous definition of success means doing the things one perceives are valuable to themselves and beneficial for others.The winner of the Nobel Prize for peace may think he has achieved success although he is rewarded little financial benefit.A person who loves animals and makes an effort to save animals that are on a path of extinction may think he has gained success although he may have expended all of his money on his career.

　　Another individual may define success as being able to make artistic masterpieces that can be accepted by public.As a composer,success is having his work praised by adoring fans and who help cause the work to be bought the world over.Similarly,holding an exhibition in a famous art gallery may connote success for a painter.

　　People adhere to various concepts defining success.Money surely cannot be the only measurement of success.Acquiring true happiness in life and attaining success means having the freedom and capability of doing that which you enjoy and believing it to be valuable.
