　　：機遇 Opportunity

　　What factor decides everyone’s opportunity? Some people believe that opportunity is just a matter of coincidence; other people believe that opportunity is around us, it needs people to perceive. In my opinion, besides what mention above, opportunity also needs us to create.

　　什麼因素決定了每個人的機遇?一些人認為機遇只是巧合的事情，另外一些人認為機遇就在我們周圍，它需要人去發現。在我看來，除了以上提到的，機遇也需要創造。

　　One factor that plays an important role in determining our opportunities is coincidence. For example, some people born in a rich family, they enjoy great chances to be successful, because the fame and the reputation from the family provide them chances. Comparing to those people who born in a poor family, they don’t have such chances, it is hard for them to seize the chances, they need to work for it.

　　決定我們機遇的一個重要原因是偶然。比如，一些人出生在一個富裕的家庭，他們享受著成功的巨大機遇，因為家庭的名利給他們帶來了機遇。和那些出生在貧困家庭的人相比，他們沒有這樣的機遇，對於他們來說很難抓住機遇，他們需要創造機遇。

　　The other factor that plays an important role in determining our opportunities are our positive attitude. Opportunity often exists all around us, it is waiting for those people who are brave to grasp it. A person who is positive will perceive the chance, he will not be defeated by fail, still holding the hope that chances comes any minute, so they will grasp the chance as soon as it comes.

　　決定我們機遇的另一個重要的因素是我們樂觀的態度。機遇總是圍繞著我們，它等待著那些勇敢的人去發現。一個樂觀的人會察覺到機遇，他不會被失敗打敗，仍然抱著希望，相信機遇隨時來，所以當機遇來的時候，他們會立刻抓住。

　　In conclusion, everyone has the chance to be successful; it contains many factors, such as coincidence, attitude and others. In order to fulfill our lives, we must seize the chance to realize our dreams.

　　總的來說，每個人都有機會成功，機遇包含著很多因素，比如偶然因素，態度和其它的因素。為了充實我們的生活，我們一定要抓住機遇來實現我們的夢想。

　　：國際護士節 International Nurses' Day

　　The May 12th, is known as International nurses day, this day is set up in memory of Florence Nightingale. Florence Nightingale is the legend in the field of medicine. From 1854 to 1856, there was a war between Anglo-French allied force and Russia, many soldiers died in this world due to poor caring condition. As a nurse, Nightingale made up her mind to change this situation. She and others nurses paid more attention to the wounded nursing and nutrition. After half year of hard working, the death rate had dropped down to 2.2%, then the whole Europe known about this. In the year of 1860, she set up the first nurse school in England, and cultivated many excellent nurses. Because of her contribution, lots of patients recovered soon.

　　5月12日是國際護士節。這一天是為了紀念弗羅倫斯•南丁格爾護士而成立的節日。南丁格爾在醫學界是個傳奇。在1854年到1856年之間，英法聯軍與沙俄發生戰爭，許多士兵在戰爭中由於照顧不當去世了。作為一名護士，南丁格爾下定決心要改變這一現狀。她和其他的護士比之前更注重傷者的照看和營養。通過大半年的努力，死亡率下降到了2.2%，然後全歐洲都知道了這一訊息。在1860年，她在英國建立了第一所護士學校，並培養了很多優秀的護士。因為南丁格爾的重要貢獻，許多病人恢復的很快。

　　After Nightingale passed away, the International Council of Nurses decided that May 12th is the nurse day. Her spirit, love, patience, care and responsibility, has become the service principles of the whole world nurses. To be a nurse, is not only a job, but also a career. This year, the main theme of the nurse day is Nurses: Nurses: A Force for Change-A vital resource for health.

　　在南丁格爾去世之後，國際護士理事會決定把每年的5月12號定為護士日。她所提倡的精神：“愛心、耐心、細心和責任心”成為了全世界護士們所遵守的服務傳統。今年，護士節的主題是“護士：變革的力量，重要的健康資源”。

　　In my humble opinion, the whole society should respect the nurses and show our thanks to them. Because of them, the patients can recover sooner and better. Without them, this world can be different. I wish every nurse is healthy and happy.

　　在我看來，整個社會都應該尊敬護士，並對他們表示感謝。因為他們，病人才能夠更快更好的康復。沒有他們，世界會變得不一樣。我祝願天下的護士健康快樂。

　　：母親節 The Mother’s Day

　　The mother’s day is a day that we express our sincerely thanks to our mother. This year, the mother’s day is on May 11th. The mother’s day first started from ancient Greek, then the Americans decided that the second Sunday of May is the mother’s day. On this special day, the mothers will receive presents from their children. The gifts could be anything. It is a way that the children show their love and care to their mothers.

　　母親節是我們向母親表達真誠謝意的節日。今年的母親節是5月11日。母親節最早起源於古希臘，隨後美國人將5月的第二個星期天定為母親節。在這個特別的日子，母親會收到孩子們的禮物。禮物可以送任何東西。這是孩子們向母親表達自己的愛與關心的日子。

　　As students, we don’t have too much money to buy expensive gifts to our mother, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t do anything to express our thanks to our mothers. We can do something too. I have a few suggestions. For example, we can make a breakfast for our mother, or make a card for her. We can also do some cleaning to reduce mother’s pressure. We can use our lucky money to buy a single carnation. What’s more, we can turn to fathers for help, I think our fathers will be willing to give us some help about what to do on the mother’s day. The chief thing to remember is that the mother’s day is aimed to spend more time with our mother, and appreciate what she has done for the whole family. I think every mother is great, and everybody should do something to let our mothers know that we love her.

　　作為學生，我們沒有太多的錢去買很貴重的禮物。但這並不意味著我們不能為自己的媽媽做些什麼來表達我們的謝意。我們也可以做些事情。我有些建議。例如說，我們可以為自己的媽媽做一份早餐，或者為她做一份卡片。我們也可以幫助媽媽做一些家務，減輕她的負擔。我們也可以用自己的壓歲錢去買一支康乃馨。更重要的是，我們可以向自己的父親求助。我相信在母親節，爸爸們會很樂意伸出援手的。最需要銘記的是母親節的目的在於花更多的時間來陪伴母親，對她為這個家所做出的一切表示感激。我認為每個媽媽都很棒，每個人都應該做些什麼來讓自己的母親知道我們愛她。
