　　：My favourite festival

　　There are a lot of holidays for chinese people, such as National day, May Day, etc. However, Chinese people look on spring festival as their most important one of all.And it's also my favorite festival, especially when I was a child, because In those days, I could have a plenty of delicious food to eat, enjoy a very long holiday and wear beautiful clothes. And what is more important is that I could received much new year's gift money. So, everyyear, I expected the spring festival would come soon. After I GREw up, it's no longer as important to me as before . For I can have my delicious food and wear my favorite clothes every day. It's like I'm having spring festival every day!

　　一年有很多節日,如國慶節，勞動節等等，但中國人看的最重的還是春節。我也很喜歡做春節。尤其是小時候，因為一到春節不但可以吃到好多好吃的，而且還能放很長的假，穿漂亮的衣服，最主要的是可以收到好多壓歲錢，小時候總盼望著春節的到來。長大了，春節好像沒那麼重要了。因為現在天天都能吃到好吃的，穿自己喜歡的衣服，就像天天都在過年!

　　：My Favorite Activity

　　Everyone loves to do something when he has free time, and I do, too. What's my favorite activity? It's shopping. Shopping is so exciting and fun. When you walk along the street, you can see many different kinds and styles of clothes. They're really beautiful and new to me, so I find it hard to control myself. I want to buy everything. Of course, after shopping I have less money and I become sad because it will be a long time until I have enough money for my next shopping spree.

　　每個人都喜歡做的事情時，當他有空的時候，我也是。我最喜歡的活動是什麼?是購物。購物是很刺激和有趣的。當你走在街上，你可以看到許多不同種類和款式的衣服。他們真的很漂亮，對我來說是新的，所以我很難控制自己。我想買一切。當然，購物後我的錢變少了，我會傷心因為它需要很長的時間直到我有足夠的錢為我的下一個購物狂歡。

　　：Campus fire safety 校園防火

　　People are alarmed by the succession of campus fires in recent years. In each of these accidents, heavy casualties were reported – houses were burned down, students lost their lives, and properties were damaged. Faced with such a chilling fact, people keep asking, “What on earth results in these repeated tragedies?”

　　近年來，人們對連續的校園火災感到震驚。每一個事故中都有嚴重傷亡報道，房屋被燒燬，學生失去生命，財產受到損失。面對這樣一個令人毛骨悚然的事實，人們不禁反問，“究竟是什麼導致這些悲劇反覆發生?”

　　A brief survey of them reveals that human factors still prove to be the leading causes. For example, three of these fires were caused by the students’ use of electric water-heaters. As students often leave the heaters unattended, the risks are rather high should the water in the bottle boil dry while no one is around to turn off the power. In other cases, fires were also caused by stoves, candles, cigarette butts, etc.

　　一項簡單的調查揭露，人為因素仍然是主要的原因。比如，其中三起事故都是由於學生使用熱得快引起的。由於學生經常讓熱得快處於無人看守狀態，如果瓶中的水燒乾卻沒有人在旁邊拔掉電源的話風險是相當高的。其他情況，如火爐，蠟燭，菸頭等也會引起火災。

　　Since most of these disasters could have been prevented if proper precautions had been taken, students should be better educated on the importance and measures of fire control. The following three reminders are of particular importance for us students: First, learn how to use a fire extinguisher. Second, double-check candles, heaters, stoves and other electric appliances, and make sure there are no open flames before leaving rooms. Lastly, do not smoke in the dorm.

　　因為如果能夠採取適當的預防措施，大部分的這些災難本可以避免的，所以學生應該更好地被教育控制火災的重要性以及措施。以下三個警告對我們學生尤其重要：第一，學會如何使用滅火器。第二，仔細檢查蠟燭，熱水器，爐具及其他電器，並確保在離開房間之前沒有明火。最後，不要在寢室內吸菸。
