　色彩純度低的顏色就深，色彩的純度指的就是色彩的純淨度。任一純色可根據新增灰色的多少來改變它的純度。顏色可分為非彩色和彩色兩大類，灰色算非彩色。灰色是黑、白以及從黑到白之間的各種色，它們可以排列成一個系列，稱為黑、白系列，該系列中由黑到白的變化可以用一條灰色帶表示。不能籠統說灰色是深色還是淺色，因為灰也有淺灰到深灰，就看這個顏色靠近白系列還是黑系列。
