夏至

夏至（Summer Solstice）是二十四節氣之一，也是最早被確定的一個節氣，日期在每年公曆6月20日-22日之間。 夏至在中國古代也是重要的傳統節日（節氣），在清代以前的夏至日，全國放假一天，而宋代百官還會在夏至時放假三天，遼代則是“夏至日謂之‘朝節’。 夏至這天，太陽直射地面的位置到達一年的最北端，幾乎直射北迴歸線，此時，北半球各地的白晝時間達到全年最長。對於北迴歸線及其以北的地區來說，夏至也是一年中正午太陽高度最高的一天。對於中國位於北迴歸線以北地區來說，夏至過後，正午太陽高度開始逐日降低；對於中國位於北迴歸線以南地區來說，正午太陽高度在夏至過後經南返，太陽再次直射後才開始逐日降低。
