母音（Vowel），又稱母音，是音素的一種，與子音相對，是在發音過程中由氣流透過口腔而不受阻礙發出的音。 發母音時氣流從肺部透過聲門衝擊聲帶，使聲帶發出均勻震動，震音氣流不受阻礙地透過口腔，透過舌、唇的調節而發出不同的聲音。發母音時聲帶必然震動的叫做濁母音，聲帶不振動的叫做清母音。
