《新潮》是五四時期著名的學生刊物，系北京大學學生蛆織新潮社的機關刊物。1919年1月創刊，為月刊。五四運動以前編輯部由傅斯年、羅家倫、楊振聲三人組成，傅斯年任主編。五四後,改由羅家倫一人主編，後又改周作人擔任主編，毛子水、顧頡剛、陳達材、孫伏園為編輯。五四運動以前，該刊是以反對封建倫理和封建文學為主要內容的新文化刊物,鼓吹倫理革命和文學革命，為當時廣大青年們歡迎，對新文化運動起了促進作用。五四運動後，逐步趨向保守,在胡適的思想影響下,成為宣揚現代資產階級學說的陣地。
