《半斤八兩》是由嘉禾電影（香港）有限公司、許氏影業有限公司於1976年聯合出品的一部喜劇電影。由許冠文自編自導自演，與許冠傑、許冠英、趙雅芝、吳耀漢等聯袂主演。故事主要講述，許冠傑從小習武，並不甘心在汽水廠的流水線上做工，遂辭職來應聘做私家偵探。萬能私家偵探社的社長許冠文刻薄寡恩而又自視甚高，卻經常接手一些小打小鬧的案件，他並不對許冠傑的到來感興趣。社長許冠文在路中誤以為鄰人偷了他的錢包，遂將其暴打，後發現是誤會。鄰人報警，社長許冠文與許冠傑狼狽逃命，在躲藏中，社長許冠文覺得許冠傑身手敏捷，遂答應他來上班。劇院老闆遭強人打劫，找社長許冠文幫忙。影片於1976年12月16日上映。
