　　1：Typhoon coming

　　Typhoons and Pacific Ocean storms that come to Taiwan in summertime or fall season. They are great wind storms; when they strike land they may do great damage. However, the weatherman always knows when one is on the way. He will send out warnings about.

　　People can board up their windows and do many other such things to protect themselves if they know about a Typhoon in time. In my house we check our supply of candles and dry-cell batteries in case of a power failure. Also, we save some water in pails because the pump will not work without electricity. Then we like to sit by the door watching the rain and wind blow loudly.

　　2：My Favorite Writer

　　I like reading in my free time. I’ve read all kinds of books which are written by many famous writers from all over the world. But I like a Chinese writer best. His name is Xu Zimo.

　　在我空閒時我喜歡閱讀。我已經讀過很多來自世界各國的著名作家寫的各種各樣的書。不過，我最喜歡的一個作家是中國的。他的名字叫徐志摩。

　　Xu Zhimo was born in a big family. His parents were good at writing and his father taught little Xu by himself. When Xu Zhimo was very young, he was interested in reading. Fables, stories or novels were his favorites and he often nearly forgot eating and sleeping.When Xu was about six years old, he began to write some short stories. He was always practising writing and he did better and better. But he still kept on reading, because he always believed that “Reading makes a full man, a ready man and an exact man.”

　　徐志摩出生在一個大家庭。他的父母都擅長寫作，他的父親親自教導他。徐志摩年輕時，他對閱讀很感興趣。寓言、故事或小說是他的最愛，為了這些他經常差點忘了吃和睡。當徐大約六歲時，他開始寫一些短篇故事。他總是練習寫作，他也寫得越好越好。但他仍不停地閱讀，因為他總是相信“閱讀使人充實,使人機敏和使人嚴謹。”

　　When he grew up, his life dream came true. He became a world-famous writer. Not only Chinese but also people from other countries worshiped Xu Zimo. His writing was enjoyed by all the people. Everybody thought that Xu’s works were so nice and great. From his writing, people can understand a lot. I have learnt that if someone wants to be a great person, he must work hard!

　　當他長大後,他的夢想實現了。他成為了一個世界聞名的作家。不僅中國還有來自其它國家的人崇拜徐志摩。他的作品受到很多人的喜愛。每個人都認為徐的作品是如此美好和偉大的。從他的作品中，人們懂得了很多。我懂得了如果一個人想成為一個偉大的人,他必須努力工作!

　　3：One day of school life

　　In the morning, we will gather at the plaza and sing the national anthum. After taking the pledge, we will go back to class where lessons will soon began.

　　早晨，我們會聚集在廣場並唱國歌。宣誓完後，我們就會回到教室，我們很快就要在那裡上課。

　　After a few periods of classes, it’s recess! Recess is the time when we eat and play and go toilet. It’s the only time in school where all students were enjoying school life. Too bad it’s only half an hour. After recess, we will go back to class where chucks of lessons start again.

　　上了幾節課後，該休息了。休息時候是我們吃東西，玩耍和上廁所的時間。這是在學校唯一的所有學生都來享受學校生活的時間。不好的是隻有半個小時。休息完後，我們會回到教室，那裡是接下來要上一節又一節課的地方。
