　　：烏鴉與狐狸

　　The fox and crow

　　One day a crow stood on a branch near his nest and felt very happy with the

　　meat in his mouth. At that time, a fox saw the crow with the meat, so he swallowed

　　and eagerly thought of a plan to get the meat. However, whatever the fox said to

　　the crow, the crow just kept silent. Until the fox thought highly of the crow’s

　　beautiful voice, the crow felt flattered and opened his mouth to sing. As soon as

　　the meat fell down to the ground, the fox took the meat and went into his hole.

　　有一天,一隻烏鴉嘴裡叼著一片肉，非常高興的站在樹枝上自己的窩旁。這時候，一隻狐狸看見了，饞得直流口水，非常想得到那片肉。但是，無論狐狸說什麼，烏鴉就是不理睬狐狸。最後，狐狸便讚美烏鴉的嗓音最優美，並請求烏鴉唱幾句讓他欣賞。烏鴉聽了狐狸的奉承話得意極了，就真的唱起歌來。沒想到，它一開口肉就掉了下來，狐狸叼起肉鑽回了自己的洞。

　　The Golden Fleece king athamus of northern GREece had two children， phrixus and helle.after he left his first wife and mar ried ino，a wicked woman，the two children received all the cruel treatment that a stepmother could devise ，at one timethe kingdom was ruined by a famine.ino persuaded her credulous husband into believing that his son，phrixus，was the actual cause of the disaster，and should be sacrificed to zeus to endit.the poor boy was then placed on the altar and was about tobe knifed when a ram with golden fleece was sent down by thegods and carried off the two children on its back.as they flew over the strait that divides asia from europe，helle，faint at the vast expanse of water below ，fell into the sea and was drowned.thus the sea of helle，hellespont，became the ancient name of the strip of water.her brother kept on and arrived in colchis on the eastern shore of the black sea.there he sacrificed the ram to zeus and gave its golden fleece to king aeetes，who nailed it on a sacred tree and put a sleepless dragon in charge.

　　After the stealing of fire,Zeus became increasingly unkind to men.One day he

　　ordered his son Hephaestus to build an image of a beautiful maiden out of clay.He then asked the gods and goddesses to award her with different kinds of gifts.A charming young lady,she was the first woman that ever lived.Zeus called her Pandora.Because she had received from each of the gods and goddesses a gift.The gift was harmful to men.

　　Zeus decided to send her down to men as a present. So Hermes them essenger brought her to Epimetheus, brother of Prometheus. The greatness of her beauty touched the hearts of all who looked upon her, and Epimetheus happily received her into his house. He had quite forgotten Pometheus' warning: never to accept anything from Zeus.

　　When he was busy with teaching men the art of living, Prometheus had left a bigcask in the care of Epimetheus. He had warned his brother not to open the lid. Pandora was a curious woman. She had been feeling very disappointed that her husband did not allow her to take a look at the contents of the cask. One day, when Epimetheus was out, she lifted the lid and out it came unrest and war, Plague and sickness, theft and violence, grief, sorrow, and all the other evils. The human world was hence to experience these evils. Only hope stayed within the mouth of the jar and never flew out. So men always have hope within their hearts.
