寫生

寫生，是一個漢語詞語，意思是以實物為觀察物件直接加以描繪的作畫方式。 寫生是指從大自然取景、物、元素的素描。室外寫生的素描也可在畫室裡完成，不過寫生素描不同於靜物畫（STILL LIFE），在靜物畫裡即使無活力的物件仍會顯現出它的自然狀態。寫生素描以及其他像人體寫生（LIFE DRAWING）、臨摹古此（DRAWING FROM THE ANTIQUE OR FROM CAST）和臨摹平面作品（drawing from the flat）等練習常常是藝術家課堂練習的一部分。寫生素描作品除了可當作藝術作品之外，也可作為在畫室進一步繪畫的筆記或研究使用。
