條件狀語從句的用法的結構

　　unless = if...not.

　　e.g. Let's go out for a walk unless you are too tired.

　　If you are not too tired,let's go out for a walk.

　　if 引導的條件句有真實條件句和非真實條件句兩種：

　　真實條件句

　　如：If it rains tomorrow,we won’t go on a park　非真實條件句是虛擬語氣的一種，表示與事實相反，如：

　　If I were you,I would go with him.

　　so/as long as只要

　　由as ***so*** long as,in case引導。

　　So long as you’re happy,it doesn’t matter what you do.

　　只要你高興，你做什麼都沒有關係。

　　You may borrow my book as long as you keep it clean.

　　只要你保持書的清潔，你就可以把我的書借去。

　　Take your umbrella in case it rains.

　　帶著你的傘吧，以防下雨。

　　例句

　　引導條件狀語從句的連詞有：if***如果***，unless***除非;如果不***，as long as***除非;只要***，supposing***假設***，on condition that***條件是***，in case***如果***。

　　You can't learn English well unless you work hard.

　　除非你努力學習，否則你學不好英語。

　　You can use my bike on condition that you return it by Friday.

　　你可以使用我的自行車，條件是你星期五以前還。

　　條件狀語從句的用法：注意事項

　　⑴條件狀語從句中一般不使用將來時態，儘管主句使用將

　　來時態，而從句用一般現在時或現在完成時。

　　【例】

　　I will come to see you if I have time.

　　我有時間，我就來看你。

　　If the rain stops,I shall go out for a walk.

　　如果雨停了，我就出去散步。

　　⑵注意條件狀語從句在虛擬語氣中的使用。

　　【例】

　　If I were to I should first of all get the experts to discuss the plan.

　　如果我真的想做這事，我首先會找專家們討論我的計劃。

　　⑶條件狀語從句中的省略。

　　【例】

　　Come tomorrow if possible. 可能的話，明天來。

　　I will buy a DVD set if necessary.

　　條件狀語從句翻譯方法

　　條件狀語從句可相應譯成表示條件或表示假設的分句，例如翻譯成：如果、要是等引導的分句。

　　Sometimes this fall, if all goes well, a revolutionary new undersea vessel will be lowered gently

　　into the waters of Monterey Bay for its maiden voyage.

　　分析：if引導的條件狀語從句插在主句的中間，翻譯時也做了同樣的處理。

　　參考譯文：今年秋天，如果一切順利的話，一隻革命性新潛艇將輕輕在蒙特利海灣下水，進行它的第一次航行。

　　分析：本句中的條件狀語由provided引導。引導條件狀語從句的片語還有providing, as long as等。
