　　和親***peace-making marriage***政策可以追溯到西漢時期***the Western Han Dynasty***。當時西漢政府為了緩和與匈奴的關係，將公主嫁給匈奴部落***Xiongnu tribes***的首領。人們對和親一直有著不同的看法。有人對和親持肯定態度，因為和親可以停止戰爭，與少數民族建立和平友好的關係而另一些人則認為和親政策是—種妥協和投降。總的來說，和親政策有利有弊，應放在當時的歷史環境下來考慮。

　　1.第2句中的“為了緩和與匈奴的關係”表目的，故將其譯作狀語in order to...放在句末。而“將公主嫁給......”作句子的謂賓成分，譯作marry its princesses to...。

　　2.第4句“有人對和親持肯定態度，因為……”的後半句可用as引導的原因狀語從句來處理。
