Stray birds of summer come to my window to sing and fly away.And yellow leaves of autumn, which no songs,flutter and fall there with a sign.

2 世界上的一隊小小的漂泊者呀，請留下你們的足印在我的文字裡。

Troupe of little vagrants of the world,leave your footprints in my worlds.

3 世界對著它的愛人，把它浩瀚的面具揭下了。它變小了，小如一首歌，小如一回永恆的接吻。

泰戈爾（Rabindranath Tagore）出生於孟加拉。但人們一致認為他是印度人。泰戈爾的《飛鳥集》（Stray bird）1913年發表，是用孟加拉文寫的。據說當年凡是講孟加拉話的地方沒有人不日日歌詠他的詩歌的。泰戈爾的詩是在他自己把它們譯成英文之後才廣為世人所知。《飛鳥集》包括了325首清麗的小詩。這些詩的基本題材不外乎小草，流螢，落葉，飛鳥，山水，河流。1913年《吉檀迦利》英譯本出版，泰戈爾成為亞洲第一個獲諾貝爾文學獎的作家。

從1891年起，他發表了《金帆船》、《繽紛集》、《收穫集》、《夢幻集》、《剎那集》5部抒情詩集，1部哲理短詩《微思集》和1部《故事詩集》。收入《繽紛集》的敘事詩《兩畝地》是作者民主主義思想的最高表現。從《剎那集》起，他開始用孟加拉口語寫詩。
