模特是英語“Model”的音譯，近年來網路上也音譯麻豆、毛豆等。模特主要是指擔任展示藝術、時尚產品、廣告等媒體的人，也代表一種從事相關工作的職業種類。模特可分為平面模特、T臺模特、廣告模特、特型模特和特殊年齡模特五大類，在體型、相貌、氣質、文化基礎、職業感覺、展示能力等方面具有一定條件，一般要有良好身材、相貌基礎、個人氣質、文化基礎、人格素養和展示能力等內在素質。世界較為著名的模特有杜晨·科洛斯、亞歷山大·安布羅休、吉賽爾·邦辰等；中國較為著名的模特有呂燕、趙磊、張亮等。
