棒 （bàng），形聲。字從木從奉，奉亦聲。“奉”意為“植物生長到（接近）高度極限”。“木”與“奉”聯合起來表示“小樹生長高度接近到頂”。棒的種類較多，僅《武經》記載即有鉤棒、抓子棒、狼牙棒、杵棒、杆棒、大棒、夾鏈棒七種。
