人是否喝醉，取決於血液中乙醇的濃度。當血液中乙醇濃度在0.05-0.1%時,人開始朦朧、暢快地微醉；而達到0.3%時,人就會口齒不清,步態蹣跚，這就是我們常說的酒醉了；如果達到了0.7%,人就會死亡。對於乙醇的承受力，人與人的差異很大。這是由於胃腸吸收能力和肝臟的代謝處理能力不同所致。也就造成了人之間的酒量不同。
