　　dreamboat: 萬人迷，極吸引人的人。

　　shy: 害羞。

　　courage: 勇氣。

　　what the cat dragged in: 貓經常拖進來的東西是死老鼠或死鳥之類的讓人看了不是很舒服的東西。這個短語借用這個情景聯想，形容某個看起來不太健康、精神氣色不太好的人走進了某處。

　　come apart at the seams: 原意指的是衣服在縫線出分開。常用來指由於無法處理或應付某種情況，某人或某事瀕臨崩潰。

　　look washed-out: 指某人看起來不太健康，臉色蒼白。

　　sore: 疼痛，尤指受傷、感染或過度鍛鍊引起的。

　　build up: 增加或增強。
