　　Tom：

　　Is it very cold in winter in Washington?

　　華盛頓那兒的冬天很冷嗎?

　　Sarah：

　　No, it isn’t. But sometimes it snows a lot in winter.

　　不是很冷。可是冬天有時候下很大的雪。

　　Tom：

　　Does it rain a lot in summer there?

　　那兒夏天雨多嗎?

　　Sarah：

　　Oh yes! Sometimes it rains very heavily. How about here in Beijing?

　　哦，是啊!有時候雨下得可厲害啦。北京這兒怎麼樣?

　　Tom：

　　There’s a lot of rain in summer, but it seldom rains in Autumn.

　　這兒夏天雨水很多。可是秋天很少下雨。

　　Sarah：

　　I feel it’s rather dry here.

　　我覺得這裡比較乾燥。

　　Tom：

　　That’s true. Many people from the south don’t like the weather here.

　　您說得對，許多南方人不喜歡這兒的天氣。

　　Sarah：

　　Are you from the south?

　　您是南方人嗎?

　　Tom：

　　No,I’m from the north. I was born in Beijing, actually.

　　我不是，我是北方人。我就是在北京生的。

　　Sarah：

　　I see. So this is your hometown?

　　啊，這麼說這兒是您老家了?

　　Tom：

　　That’s right.

　　How did you get home?

　　你怎麼回的家?

　　At first, I planned to take a train. But then I decided to take a plane because of the blizzard.

　　本來是要坐火車，可是因為雪災，就改坐飛機啦。

　　Edward：

　　Oh, the traffic was backed up by the snow.

　　唉，雪災弄得交通都癱瘓了。

　　May：

　　Yeah, and more than 100, 000 people's trains were delayed at the Guangzhou Railway Station.

　　是啊，廣州火車站滯留了十幾萬人呢。

　　Edward：

　　How lucky you were!

　　那你還真是幸運呢!

　　May：

　　Yeah, I was luck to be able to get plane tickets and not have to wait at the train station.

　　是啊，能買到飛機票，不用在火車站裡等真是夠幸運的。
