　　When a group of women got on the car, every seat was already occupied. The conductor noticed a man who seemed to be asleep, and fearing he might miss his stop, he nudged him and said: "Wake up, sir!"

　　當一群婦女上車之後，車上的座位全都被佔滿了。售票員注意到一名男子好象是睡著了，他擔心這個人會坐過站，就用肘輕輕地碰了碰他，說：“先生，醒醒!”

　　"I wasn't asleep," the man answered.“

　　我沒有睡著。”那個男人回答。

　　"Not asleep? But you had your eyes closed."

　　“沒睡著?可是你眼睛都閉上了呀?”

　　"I know. I just hate to look at ladies standing up beside me in a crowded car."

　　“我知道，我只是不願意看到在擁擠的車上有女士站在我身邊而已。”

　　A couple go for a meal at a Chinese restaurant and order the "Chicken Surprise". The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast iron pot.

　　一堆夫婦去中餐館吃飯，點了一個“雞肉驚嚇”。服務員上菜了，拿上來一個鑄造的鐵罐。

　　Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the lid of the pot rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.

　　正當妻子準備開動的時候，罐子的蓋子輕輕地升起來了一點，蓋子又落下去前她只看到兩隻亮晶晶的小眼睛正四處看。

　　"Good grief, did you see that?" she asks her husband.

　　“天吶，你看到了嗎?”她問丈夫。

　　He hasn't, so she asks him to look in the pot. He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down.

　　丈夫沒有，於是妻子讓丈夫一直盯著這個罐子。他伸出手去，而蓋子又起來了，他也看到了那兩隻亮晶晶的小眼睛。

　　Rather perturbed, he calls the waiter over, explains what is happening,and demands an explanation.

　　他不安地叫來了服務員，告訴了他看到的事情，要求一個解釋。

　　"Please sir," says the waiter, "what you order?" The husband replies, "Chicken Surprise."

　　“好的先生，”服務員說，“您點了什麼?”丈夫回答：“雞肉驚嚇”

　　"Ah... so sorry," says the waiter, "I bring you Peeking Duck."

　　“啊…不好意思”服務員說，“我給您上的是北京烤鴨。”
