　　After each heartbreak, I would wonder how long it would take me to find him. I didn't realize it then, but each relationship taught me a lesson and brought me one step closer to true love.It went something like this.

　　Tony and I walked down Bloomingdale Avenue holding hands. His friend was with us and suggested we kiss goodbye. I said okay. Tony's eyes became the size of golf balls, "I can't believe you said that!" ***and not because he was not looking forward to the kiss***. So with one quick peck on his lips, I headed for home.When I dumped him a few weeks later, I thought he was going to hate me for life. He tattled on me to the teacher each chance he got, making me cry and look like a baby in gym class. Tony taught me that boys can't be jerks even bigger ones if you break their heart.

　　In 7th grade, I had a crush on’Billy. His hair was longer than mine and he was missing a few front teeth, but each time he smiled at me, 1 melted. We would write each other notes in school, the scent of his cologne lingering on cach letter. Not long after, my sister began to like him too. He was the one and only guy we fought over. What he taught me was invaluable一no guy is worth two sisters fighting.

　　A story is told about，a young married couple whose names are Jim and Dclla. They are poor but very much in love with each other.

　　有一對夫妻，丈夫叫吉姆，妻子叫黛拉他們生活窘迫，但是彼此深深相愛.

　　As Christmas approaches, Della wonder what to get Jim for C'hristmas. She would like to give him a watch chain fur his gold watch. but ;he doean't have a enough money. Then she gets an idea.She has beautiful long hair. So Della decide, to cut off her hair and sell it buy the fancy chain for Jim's watch.

　　聖誕節前，黛拉考慮著該給吉姆買什麼樣的聖誕禮物她想給他的金錶配一根錶鏈，可錢不夠。後來她想到了一個主意。她長有一頭漂亮的長髮，因此她決定將長髮剪短換錢，這樣就可以給吉姆買一根漂亮的錶鏈了。

　　On Christmas Eve she return s home, and in her hand is beautiful bos containing a gold watch chain which she purchased bys elling her hair. Suddenly Della begins to worry. She knows Jim admired her long hair, and she wonders if he will be disappointed that she cut it ott and sold it.

　　平安夜，拿著一個裝有金錶錶鏈的禮盒，黛拉向家中走去沒錯，錶鏈正是她用賣掉自己的頭髮的錢買來的。黛拉有些擔心，她知道古姆非常喜歡她長長的秀髮，而待會看到她的頭髮被剪短，他會很失望嗎?

　　Della climbs the final flight of stairs leading to their tiny apartment. She unlocks the door and is surprised to find Jim home and waiting for her. In his hand is a neatly wrapped box containing the gift he purchased for her.

　　When Della removes her scarf, Jim sees Della's short hair, and tears well up in his eyes. But she says nothing. He chokes back the tears and gives Della the gift box.

　　When Della opens it, she can't believe her eyes. There in the box is a set of beautiful silver combs for her long hair.

　　開啟禮盒，黛拉不敢相信自己的眼睛，禮盒裡裝有一套漂亮的銀質梳具，一套為她曾經的秀髮準備的梳具。

　　And when Jim opens his gift, he, too, is astonished. There inside the box is a beautiful gold chain for his gold pocket watch. Only then does Della realize that Jim pawned his gold watch to buy her the silver hair combs.

　　開啟禮盒後，吉姆同樣驚呆了，禮盒裡正是黛拉給他買的漂亮的金錶錶鏈。黛拉那時才知道，為了給她買這套銀質梳具，吉姆已經將金錶抵押給了當鋪。

　　Far more beautiful than the gifts is the love they symbolize.

　　One day,plato asked his teacher,"What is love?How can I find it?"

　　柏拉圖有一天問老師：“什麼是愛情，我怎樣才能找到愛情呢?”

　　His teacher answered ;"There is a vast wheat field in front .Walk forward without turning back and pick only one stalk.If you find the most magnificent stalk then you have found love."

　　老師告訴他，“前方有一大片麥田，你過去摘一株最大最好的麥穗回來，但你只能往前走，不能回頭，並且只可以摘一次。如果你能夠找到最大的麥穗，那你就找到了愛情。”

　　Plato walked forward,and a long time passed before he returned with empty hands,having picked nothing.

　　於是柏拉圖向麥田走去，很久後他才回來，卻兩手空空。

　　His teacher asked ,"Why did you not pick any stalk?"

　　老師問道：“你為什麼空手而歸?”

　　Plato answered ;"Because I could only pick once,and yet I could not turn back.I did find the most magnificent stalk,but did not know if there were any better ones ahead ,so I did not pick it.As I walked future,the stalks that I saw were not as good as the earlier one,so I did not pick any in the end."

　　柏拉圖回答說：“我剛才的確找到了最大的那株麥穗，但我沒有摘，因為我只能摘一次，並且還不可回頭，我又不能確定前面是否還會有更好的。等我放棄那株繼續往前走的時候，才發現沒有比那株更好的麥穗了，因此我一株也沒有摘。”

　　His teacher then said,"And that is love."

　　老師告訴他：“那就是愛情。”

　　On another day,Plato ask his teacher,"What is marriage?How can I find it?"

　　柏拉圖有一天又問老師：“什麼是婚姻，我怎樣才能找到婚姻呢?”

　　His teacher answered,"There is a thrivign forest in front.Walk forward without turning back,and chop down only one tree,If you find the tallest tree,then you have found marriage."

　　這次老師告訴他：“前方有一片長得很茂盛的森林，你過去砍一棵樹回來，但你只能往前走，不能回頭，並且只能砍一棵。如果你能夠找到最高的樹，那你就找到了婚姻。”

　　Plato walked forward,and before long,he returned with a tree.The tree was not thriving,and it was not tall either,It was only an ordinary tree.

　　柏拉圖出發了，沒過多久他就回來了，扛著一棵很普通的樹，樹長得不茂盛也不高。

　　His teacher asked,"Why did you chop down such an ordinary tree?"

　　老師問道：“你為什麼會選擇一棵這麼普通的樹?”
