婁是一種姓氏，最初起源有二：一、遠祖始於周代，是古代帝王 顓頊之後，西周時，周武王攻滅 商朝後，把顓頊的這支後代封在婁地，建立 諸侯國邾婁國，邾婁國的公族後代子孫就有的以國名中的“婁”為姓。二、婁姓起源於姒姓。 大禹的兒子啟建立夏朝，傳至第五王為少康。周武王滅商後，追封先代賢王的後裔，把少康的後裔東樓公封於杞（今河南 杞縣），遂為杞國。 春秋時，杞國在周圍大國的壓力下被迫東遷，後來定居於淳于（今山東省安丘市東北）。杞君有一支子孫封在婁邑（今山東省諸城市西南），遂以地名為姓，稱婁姓。
